Castaway Island, Fiji is closely aligned with the Mamaunuca Environment Society (MES) to monitor and maintain the health of marine ecosystems. MES, a cooperative effort of government and private industry, actively involves local communities and visitors in ocean resource conservation. The organization’s Awareness Programs teach and train in fun and fulfilling ways. At Castaway Island, Fiji guests can participate in the MES coral planting program which propagates living coral to replant in reef systems around the island.
